Colour ........ your own Window of Life

Hello All,
Hope your Week-end sparkled with colour and wonder.

Beautiful Gem Colours and Creations of
Designs In Stained Glass at Etsy

I hope your Week-end was as great as my few days away to
the country visiting family. The mornings were cool but
the days clear and sunny. So glad to be away in the fresh
country air to make full advantage of weather before the
cooler weather arrives to stay!

My Idea for this post came last week when out walking
the pooch, I spotted something I had not noticed ever before......
A porch light left on reminded me how much I adore Lead Lighting!
This house has been empty for a long time. It is another plain looking
red brick 50's home that would have been a family home once.
I can imagine what it would have looked like inside as my Grand-
parents owned one similar close by. I am sure the original owners would
have treasured this brighly created porch lead light.

My Adventure with Lead Lighting must have started when
I first admired my soon to be Grandmother-In-Laws kitchen
cabinet. It had a row of 3 glass window doors in blue.
Blue is one of my favourite colours, blue eyes, blue birds,
blue butterflies, the sky and the ocean.

So the story goes that when she passed away we received
the cabinet to help make our first country house a home.
The first picture is part of this special piece.

If like me you are a lover of Stained Glass you will enjoy
visiting Designs in Stained Glass by Nancy Ratte at her Etsy Shop.
Each time I see her creations I wonder at the talent
and design that goes into each piece.
The middle picture is 4 of my favourites. Hearts and flowers.
Each one is treasure and made with loving care.
I like the way they make the view outside look so inviting.
A window to another world that is full of surprised and
just waiting to be discovered.
Just looking at them would brighten the dullest of days.
Adding warmth and joy.

including abstract, traditional, contemporary and Victorian.

Some time ago I made this card for a sweet young couple.
The illustration is a vintage postcard that is so sweet.
Even if we are not young couples anymore
we all strive to fill our homes with love and laughter
and if you have a handy hubby like mine who is happy
creating a magic garden all the better!
Hope you all have a happy week,
especially to the young at heart!

Greetings for Mothers Day.........Be Happy!

Special Greetings to all the very special Mum's that visit
here at Astrachic Studio. It has been so wonderful getting
to know you all from far and wide across the globe!
I send my wishes for a very happy time for you and your
dear families.

Love is in the Air!
Congratulations to the sweet couple who recently got engaged.
I am so excited for you both, Jessica and David.
Best Wishes to you for a happy lifetime together.
PS ;) No trees were harmed to produce this photograph!
Just having a little digital fun.

Perfectly beaut weather all week for us South Aussie City dwellers.
It has been enchanting weather with mild sunny days.
PLEASE let it last for the Week-end Festivities!
My Multi Coloured Roses are giving us a lovely show at the moment.
Rainbow Roses ;)

This sweetly handcrafted card was sent to me all the way from United States from my card swap pal Autumn. It is so pretty and she has used one
 of Krista's Girl Stamps.
The colours are so Me. I am displaying it for a while with my Vintage Art Deco Tea Set that I got for Christmas. This Week-end I am going to use them for the first time on Mothers Day with my Mother.
She was the one who agreed with me that they were a must have item. What a great shopping Pal?!

Cheers to you all for another great Mothers Day!
Congratulations to all the new Mum's and those still waiting for
the new arrival. Time to cherish all those little moments that create
great memories when you are a young family having fun.
Hard to believe that this is my 29th Mothers Day.
I did celebrate my Mother-to-be first Mothers Day 30 years
ago with all my extended family. Some who are not with us
anymore but I think of them often with much love.

Time to have a wonderful Week-end.

P.S So sorry this posting is such a muddle! With all the blogger
problems of late my photos have disappeared and I am having
a fun?! time correcting it!
So here it is again at the bottom of the post instead of at the
top!!!! I just love how this pretty Victorian Postcard picture
turned my card into something so sweet and special for
Mothers Day. It is not Mothers Day anymore but
I am sure that we love them just as much each day.

William & Kate...........Happy Future Together

Vintage Paper Doll Book featuring Royal Baby Prince William
from Grandmothers Attic at Etsy.

How great is this fun paper doll and outfit book?
I found this treasure at this inspiring Vintage shop at Etsy.
Elizabeth from Grandmothers Attic has made my day by
having such a fun item for sale.
Paper dolls are so much fun when they include a Kilt, Dog and Bagpipes!
Thank-you Elizabeth for allowing me to share this great find and photos
with my visitors today.

Historic Home fit for a Prince or King!

I was doing some Heritage photography in my area and have
always liked the grandeur of this stately home. It comes up well
with some extra affects that I have been working on.
Once upon a time I know that this grand home was built with only
the best materials and had all the mod cons of the day.
